In the Old Testament, God’s people were instructed to give a tithe or a “tenth” of their income back to God; to sustain their ministers, temple, religious activities, and to support the poor.

God’s covenant people were instructed to be generous and charitable. The New Testament carries on this thread of generosity and trust. In the Church, we see an explosion of generosity, reflecting Jesus’ teaching and example on giving.

The authors instructed believers to support their local churches, ministers, ministries, and care for their community.

The model of the tithe is referenced without an exact percentage commanded. We join with the authors of scripture in encouraging people to give sacrificially, generously, regularly, and joyfully.

Through faithful and generous giving we seek to obey what scripture calls Christians to do for sustaining a healthy church and community.

At Sundry, we use words like tithe, giving, and generosity. We believe those are powerful principles to build upon as we follow Jesus in our finances. The motive of giving is to focus on the heart of the giver, not just the amount of the gift. Through the regular practice of giving, God works in us and through us.

Every dollar given at Sundry goes to resource our vision for community. With all our spending - for our team, facility, equipment, mission and outreach, our purpose is to see the gospel lived out in our community by making disciples who pursue, encounter, and reflect Jesus.

We call our vision for community Sundry Next.

Through Sundry Next we desire to prepare each new year to partner with Jesus in our our own backyard and around the world.

In addition our regular tithing, we receive a Sundry Next Project offering annually to go toward our main project for the year.

Sundry Next is our vision for community. Each year we renew our commitment and present our next focus. In November, on Sundry Next Sunday, we celebrate what God has and will do in the next year. In December, we receive a Sundry Next Offering. Throughout the year we provide strategic opportunities to serve and to give.
