Our Beliefs

  • We believe that the entire Bible is “God-breathed” for the ultimate purpose of bearing witness to Christ, and especially to his redemptive work of salvation. We rely on Scripture as our authoritative rule for faith and conduct.

  • We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – coeternal in being, coeternal in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.

  • We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man and is the image of the invisible God, the perfect reflection of God’s heart, character, beauty and love. Jesus doesn’t merely reveal part of what God is like. Rather, the fullness of God is in Christ and revealed through Christ. As Jesus himself tells us, when we see him, we see the very character of the Father.

  • The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to His Church, transforming us into the image of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit works in our lives to teach us, convict us, guide us, and empower us so that we may reflect God’s character in our daily lives.

  • We believe that all humanity is fearfully and wonderfully made, created in the image of God and designed to live in loving relationship with God. However, humanity has fallen into sin and evil and become separated from God. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to restore our relationship with our Creator. Salvation comes only through God’s grace - not human effort - and is received personally by repentance toward God and faith in the substitutionary death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • The church is the corporate body of all who have placed their trust in Jesus.

  • We believe that the day is coming when Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly, in power and glory, to bring completion to his salvation and his judgment; bringing an end to injustice and renewing creation.

Ordinances

Creeds

  • We practice baptism by immersion in water as an outward sign of our new life in Jesus and with His Family of believers.

  • The Lord’s Supper is central to our worship as we delight in the opportunity to connect with the Church down through the ages in remembering and experiencing the great salvation provided by our Lord.

  • We hold to the essential orthodox Christian beliefs, as best expressed in the Apostle’s Creed and Nicene Creed. These Historic Creeds connect us with the long history of Christian Faith and we join with centuries of Christians in affirming these beliefs.

  • I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. The third day He arose again from the dead.He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, when He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

  • I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.Amen.

Our Values

  • EVERYTHING POINTS BACK TO JESUS

The Gospel is the historical narrative of God’s redemptive plan to reconcile and restore creation from sin and death. It is our clearest picture of the pinnacle of that plan, Jesus. Therefore, we place Jesus as revealed in the Gospel at the center of our mission as a church.

  • DIVERSE PEOPLE UNITED TO REFLECT JESUS

We believe we pursue, encounter and reflect Jesus best in the context of community. We place special emphasis on building life-giving relationships not just on Sundays, but throughout the week through Community Groups, Serve Teams, or simply grabbing a coffee with someone. Community is meant to cultivate encouragement and accountability for one another and service to our church and city.

  • OUR LOVING RESPONSE TO JESUS

We believe worship involves laying aside our wants and desires and giving thanks for who Jesus is. We seek to continuously submit all our pursuits in life to align with our pursuit of Jesus. We believe we encounter God’s presence through the Holy Spirit, truth is illuminated and transformation takes place. True worship results in us reflecting the beauty of Jesus to those around us.

  • FOUND IN RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS.

We believe that the truest expression of who we are is found in our relationship with Jesus. In that relationship, we find joy, forgiveness, healing, comfort, and purpose. Jesus gives life to our relationships and continuously crafts us into the masterpiece we were created to be.

  • COMMUNICATION WITH JESUS THAT LEADS US TO HIS HEART

Prayer is an essential practice and lifeline for our lives as believers and as a church. Through prayer, the Holy Spirit informs our minds, shapes our hearts, guides, leads and directs our steps. As we pursue Jesus in prayer, the goal is ongoing encounter with him that leads us to his heart, causing us to reflect his love and justice.

  • REVEALING THE REDEMPTIVE HEART OF JESUS

The gospel is the story of God’s good intentions for creation revealed through the redemption and restoration found in Jesus. God’s desire is to make all things new. As we look toward a final day of complete justice, we live in a world that is still filled with all kinds of hurt, pain, sorrow, violence, manipulation, and injustice. As Jesus followers, we have the privilege to join our Savior now, through our thoughts, words, actions: through our very lives, in daily doing justice that points toward the redemptive heart of Jesus and the final day that awaits the redeemed.

  • LOVING JESUS THROUGH SERVING OTHERS

If you are too big to serve, you are too small to lead. We value servant-leadership because this is the model for action and change that Jesus set for us himself. The God of the universe stepped down to serve the least, lost, and left out. Jesus’ motivation wasn’t to get ahead or compete but to selflessly love others for their highest good.

  • EVERY DISCIPLE MAKES DISCIPLES

We take the great commission seriously, to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). And we believe every disciple is called and accountable to that command of Jesus to the church. Our vision is to encourage and empower every person at Sundry, young and old, to live out the gospel in a way that makes room for more people to pursue, encounter, and reflect Jesus.
